Episode 8 – Facebook and Instagram for your Business

Hey Everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Digital Marketing Dive Podcast. I’m Seth Goldstein from Goldstein Media, with me is the self-proclaimed king of the Internet, Shawn Swaim, of Shawn Swaim Consulting.

We have a great episode for you today.

Today we’re going to talk about using Facebook and Instagram for your business.

  • Business Page vs. Personal Page used for Business
    • Reach is a major concern: Facebook put up a lot of roadblocks for organic reach for business pages. (Promoting paying for ads… hoooowwww convenient…)
  • Boosting posts
    • “Boost” vs. A Straight Up Ad
      • Likely a rant here… lol… I (Shawn) HATE boosted posts
      • Shhhh don’t tell him Seth boosted the episode 5 post.
  • FB and IG stories
  • Sponsored Posts on IG
    • Done in same platform as Facebook ads, however, the audience on FB is different from audience on IG, and the ad content should be treated as such
  • Great video from social media pro Sunny Lenarduzzi on her Instagram tricks. Some really good ideas:  https://youtu.be/anPgxACGPLE

This week we’re going to try something different. Instead of our WordPress plugin picks. We’re doing general apps and sites that intrigue us.

Shawn: Workflowy – Powerful AF for helping keep Sh*t organized

Seth: Planoly – Has a free basic plan with some limitations, but a neat way to plan out your Instagram account.
